About Art Therapy

Art therapists are trained to bring together skills in the expressive art-making and counselling to help support people in addressing a wide range of issues and challenges. In a safe and supportive environment, creative expression can be a powerful way to help us develop insight about our lives, cultivate compassion and make positive change.

My art therapy practice is focused on meeting the unique needs of each client through facilitating a mindful and compassionate art-based experience. During the art therapy session clients choose simple materials (paint, pastels, clay, fabric etc.) to help explore and express feelings, thoughts, and issues. Through conversation and the creative process, clients have an opportunity to look at their lives from new perspectives and develop effective strategies for change.

Art Therapy is suitable for a range of ages and abilities. Art making is focused on personal expression and no previous art experience is needed to participate. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information about art therapy or to book a session.
